I work in Environmental Services. My job is to keep the hospital clean. It's not glamorous work, but I know that if my job isn't done right, a patient could end up with a serious infection and a much longer stay in the hospital, or worse. When a pandemic hits, clean halls, countertops, linens and washrooms are the first line of defense. I'm proud of my role in keeping our hospitals safe. But now they're talking about privatizing the work I do. Do we really want to trust this work to the lowest bidder?
