"I walk a tightrope, balancing the needs and desires of family members and those of authorities and agencies."
Child welfare is an incredibly complex job. Every family is different. I also work with schools, health authorities and police.
My job is to support and help families raise their children before they have a crisis. If they reach that point, I try to help them get out of it and reunite them with their children. I need to analyze situations quickly and accurately to see if intervention is needed. I walk a tightrope, balancing the needs and desires of family members and those of authorities and agencies.
