Sustainable Resource Development hasn't kept up with economic growth for years. We don't have enough people to protect our sensitive forests and wildlife populations, or help industry manage their environmental impact. More and more, the government is trusting companies to report their own environmental regulation violations. That's like asking drivers to report their own speeding to the RCMP. It doesn't make sense.
