Your Working People is published by The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) to raise awareness and promote discussion of political, social and environmental issues that affect the people of Alberta. We focus on issues relating to provincial public service, the sector that employs most of our members.
AUPE is Alberta’s largest union, representing more than 70,000 Albertans. Members of AUPE work in occupations that include clerical, nursing, social services, trades and maintenance, and technical work. Approximately one third of AUPE’s total members are direct employees of the Alberta provincial government, working in a wide variety of occupations, while about half of AUPE's total members are employed in the health-care sector.
